Architectural treasures right next to the Sea

The Hanseatic city of Wismar is also called the city of red-brick Gothic architecture and fascinates visitors with its cultural diversity and historic treasures. Even today the sound and well maintained building structures are a testimony to the importance of Wismar during the thriving years of the Hanse.
Some of the largest Gothic churches of Mecklenburg-Pomerania are here. Since 2002 the historic city centre is designated by the UNESCO as world cultural heritage.

Museums, art galleries, concerts, traditional festivals and a theatre welcome you throughout the seasons. Find your spot in one of the many restaurants, cafés and romantic harbour bars and enjoy the maritime flair in peace and quiet.

The sports and recreation centre “Wonnemar” offers something for all guests throughout the whole year.
