Where Healthy Bathing in the Baltic Sea Was Started

Walk on historic paths in the Baltic Sea health spa Heiligendamm. In 1793 Duke Friedrich Franz I. started the healthy bathing in the Baltic Sea and founded the first German Baltic Sea spa. Today, at the very same spot you will find the Grand Hotel Heiligendamm, host of the G8 summit in 2007.

The narrow gauge, steam driven train “Molli” connects Heiligendamm with the city of Bad Doberan and the Baltic Seaside Resort of Kühlungsborn.

Furthermore the surrounding of Heiligendamm offers wonderful bike paths and hiking trails and individuals as well as families will find plenty to do in this attractive vacation spot.
